Privacy notice

Your information, handled with care.

CAFIA is an independent helpdesk. We collect the least amount of data needed to help you and to improve this service. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What CAFIA will never ask for

CAFIA will never ask for your PIN, OTP, password, full card number, or bank login details, by any channel. If someone contacts you claiming to be from CAFIA and asks for them, stop and report it.

What we collect

  • Information you give us when logging a complaint: your name and contact details, the institution involved, description of the issue, and any files you choose to attach.
  • Choices you make on Find Finance and Prepare My Business, such as your goal or self-declared readiness. Signed-in users have this saved to their account. Anonymous users have it stored on this device only, unless they opt in to anonymised analytics.
  • Basic technical data, such as browser type and general usage patterns, needed to keep the service running.

What we do with it

  • Help you record and follow up your case with a human reviewer.
  • Understand which topics matter most to users, in aggregate only.
  • Publish policy insights using anonymised, grouped figures. Groups with fewer than five people are not published.

Our commitments to you

  • Your data is never sold to any third party.
  • Complaint details are shared with a provider only with your agreement.
  • Decisions about you or your finances are always made by people, never by automation.
  • CAFIA works only from information you choose to share; NASSIT, tax and credit bureau records are never collected.

Attachments and storage

Complaint attachments are stored in a private bucket. Access requires a short-lived signed link created only for a case reviewer or for you. Files stay only as long as needed to help resolve your case.

Your choices

  • You can use much of the site without signing in.
  • You control the consent banner and can decline optional analytics at any time from this page in a future release.
  • You can ask us to remove your account and case history by contacting the helpdesk once it launches.
